To review the problem of death due to drug overdose and discuss changing trends in the drugs responsible for the harm。


Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. IDENTIFY the leading causes of drug overdose fatalities
  2. DESCRIBE the past and current trends in the abuse of controlled substances
  3. COMPARE the risks of overdose between stimulants and opioids
  4. DESCRIBE the factors involved in the changing landscape of overdose causes
